Connect Your Ford to Alexa

Many 2022 and later Ford vehicles have Amazon Alexa built-in, which allows you to use your voice to search the web, control your infotainment system and even do things like adjust the volume or look up navigation instructions. If you have a new or new-to-you Ford vehicle, and you’re eager to start using Amazon Alexa, follow the simple steps below to set it up.

How to Activate FordPass® Connect

If you haven’t activated FordPass® Connect with your vehicle, follow the steps below. If you’ve already activated your vehicle, skip to the next section.

Step 1: Get the FordPass® App

Find the FordPass® App in the App Store or Google Play Store. If you have an existing account, login. If not, create one.

Step 2: Add Your Ford Vehicle to FordPass®

To add your vehicle to FordPass®, turn off your vehicle, open the app and tap the “Add Vehicle” button. Then, enter or scan your vehicle identification number (VIN), which is usually located in the driver’s side corner of the dashboard directly below the windshield or on the driver’s side door jamb. Once you’ve entered the VIN you can name your vehicle for easy identification later.

Step 3: Activate Your Vehicle
  1. Open the app and select “Activate Vehicle.”
  2. Start your vehicle.
  3. When prompted on the SYNC® screen, press “Allow.”

Your FordPass® connection is now active. The next step is to add Alexa.

Setting Up Amazon Alexa

To finish setting up your vehicle with FordPass®, just follow these easy steps:

  1. On your SYNC screen, navigate to Settings and select Amazon Alexa.
  2. Start the setup by tapping “Get Started” or “Yes” when prompted, depending on your SYNC version.
  3. A QR code will appear on the SYNC screen; scan it with your mobile device. If scanning doesn't work, visit https://amazon.com/us/code.
  4. Sign in to your Amazon account or create a new one.
  5. Your SYNC screen will display a code. Enter this code on your Amazon account to complete the setup.

You're now all set up with Amazon Alexa. Use voice commands to unlock your doors, play your favorite music, and more. Enjoy the convenience!
